This Cajun Honey-Butter Salmon is a spicy and sweet seafood option that cooks in 15 minutes. The salmon is moist and meaty, cooks nice and flaky, and is topped with spicy honey butter.
Ingredients
4 salmon fillets
salt and pepper to taste
3 tbsp unsalted butter - at room temperature
1.5 tbsp honey
cajun seasoning
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp smoked paprika
2 tsp dried Italian seasoning
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp finely ground black pepper
½ tsp salt
½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
In a small bowl mix together cajun seasoning ingredients
Use electric hand mixer to whip butter for 2 minutes until light and fluffy. Add honey and cream together until smooth. Mix in 1 tablespoon of the cajun seasoning
Pat salmon fillets dry on both sides with a paper towel. Rub with oil, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bake salmon on at 400 degrees until 145 degrees temperature, ~15 minutes. You can grill instead of baking as well.
Place a generous dollop of cajun honey butter on top of each fillet.
Allow to melt for about 30 seconds, then use the back of a spoon to spread the butter all over the the top of the salmon
Garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley and serve immediately.
